Streaming on twitch.tv: First Steps

I recently started streaming my ladder sessions. It still feels a bit weird and I have no clue where this is heading.

For now, I am just playing a bit with the setup and I don’t really expect anyone to watch my streams. I enjoy experimenting with OBS setting up scenes and automatic scene transitions. My goal is that I am not too distracted by streaming, but still try to find out if this is something for me.

I was pretty surprised when I actually had a few viewers on my stream that even engaged in chat. Currently, it’s hard to interact with viewers because I am playing in the living room in our small apartment. I don’t have a second screen to see the chat while in game and I also would disturb my wife that is sitting in the same room. But after moving to our own house in the end of May I will have my own office / gaming room, where the setup is way better.

Commenting my own games might add another layer of multitasking, but on the other hand it might help me make conscious decisions - or not doing anything without a reason. If it’s too distracting, I might just talk through the replay analysis after the games. Time will tell.
